A2TP EP 116: ANOTHER ONE… AGAIN
I am not certain how many times or ways the same story can be told over and over again. But I guess as long as history continues to repeat itself, so will the news cycle. The school shootings happening throughout the country have far exceeded what anyone could have ever imagined. Yet there’s no end in sight. What the hell is anyone supposed to do to make a difference?
In the US between 2009-2028, America topped the list of school shootings at 288. This count outnumbered the second country on the list, Mexico, by 3700%. That’s not a typo. You read it correctly. The great red, white, and blue flag waving United States of America had 3700% more shootings with 288 compared to 8 during this 10 year period. What are we doing so drastically wrong to allow children’s lives to be taken at such alarming rates?
Honestly, I’m not sure if there is anything that can really be done. With hands in every pocket, this is bigger than bullets. When lobbyists are being paid to push agendas, this is no longer a fair fight. The public’s safety has been traded for dollars and we just may be doomed. But I’m not ready to accept that as our country’s destiny. Are you?
Our hands are no longer tied or even held high. At this point, they’re just scratching heads to figure this thing out. Or maybe that’s the thing. Nobody really cares enough to figure it out. But let’s talk it out.
