Wake up Mr. West! If you’ve listened to the College Dropout by the self proclaimed Jeen-Yuhs Kanye West, then you probably automatically knew where this line is from. Like it was stated then by comedian DeRay Davis, another Chicago native, the same sentiments are on the hearts and minds of many others.  The Black Lives Matter movement was never to negate that all lives are important, valued and matter. But who doesn’t know that? The thought that through an effort to preserve and promote value of the undervalued others would be devalued is bonkers! However, this point has had to be made time and time and time again. And then there’s the T-shirt. Excuse tf out of us Mr. West?!?  It’s perfectly clear like 20/20 vision that some things are done just for a reaction. But when is it too much? Donning a shirt reading White Lives Matter is a statement that no one needs to make. We know. It’s never been questioned and it’s never been endangered. So the thought of a black man making such a statement is bewildering to say the least.  Is it a public instinct? A twisted marketing plan? Maybe just a cry for validation? Whatever the case, it certainly flamed a fire. We have our opinion and of course we share it.  Check out Episode 91 and join the conversation.
