TEEN WRITING CONTEST
Are you a teen who likes to write short stories, poetry, or flash fiction? Do you have a teen who likes to write those same things? AADL is hosting its 34th Annual Teen Writing Contest and accepting submissions through March 1 for kids in grades 6 through 12. Writers must reside in Washtenaw County. Prizes for first, second, and third place in each category!

LAND ACKNOWLEDGMENT PLAQUES
AADL has launched a call for artists, seeking indigenous artists from the Great Lakes region to create artwork for Land Acknowledgement plaques that the library intends to display at our five libraries and the AALF. Artists can apply, tell us a little bit about themselves, and give examples of past work—we're not looking for spec work here—and then AADL will select six artists to work with and support these artists in creating unique plaques for each location. The call goes through April 1 and AADL will compensate the artists $2,000 plus production expenses are available.
