SOUL FOOD
This Thursday, we have an amazing event that's one part educational and one part gustatory! It's the History of Soul Food and Taste Test on Thursday, Feb. 12 from 6-7 PM at the Downtown Library. Learn the roots, resistance, and resilience found in Black soul food traditions, and then taste samples from local soul food producers!

The 64th Ann Arbor Film Festival is next month, but to get people excited, film fest executive director Leslie Raymond is stopping by the library on Saturday, Feb. 14 from 1-3pm to screen eight award-winning experimental films from the 63rd AA Film Festival. You can see documentaries, animation, narrative, and hybrid short films at this event, which will be followed by a Q&A with Leslie herself!

We had a KPop Demon Hunters party last month that was gigantic and tonight at 6pm at the Downtown Library, we have a scholar of Korean Studies at the U-M Nam Center who'll join us to explain the key Korean mythical and cultural components that are embedded in KPop Demon Hunters so you can get a better appreciation for this amazing film.TONIGHT6pm Downtown Library

People have been waiting allll year for this Sunday and it's all come down to this. No, not the Super Bowl, it's the Ann Arbor Fiber Arts Expo or AAFAX, Sunday, February 8 from 10am to 5pm at the Downtown Library!
We have a lobby packed full of vendors selling handmade accessories, patterns, books, dyes, and all things fiber related. We have four presentations from fber arts experts, plus drop-in crafting and hands-on demos. All at the Downtown Library and pretty much all day Sunday. And you'll still have time to grab some dinner and catch kickoff which is 6:30pm! The best of both worlds!
