Aawaaz khaamoshi ki sada hoti hai

Kyon ke woh be sada nahin hoti hai

Dil dhadakta hai jaise har waqt, lekin

Sada us ki sunayi nahin deti hai

Dil se to uth te hain mahz jazbaat

Num chashm hi dukh se milaati hai

Gham e mehrumi ka andaaz to yaro

Bas, roti aankh hi bayaan karti hai

Saba, hawa, naseem, fiza ya kuchh aur

Woh shai aur hai, ma ki jo lori sulaati hai

Nahin dara hai ‘sahil’ tufaanon se kabhi 

Dua, khuda se, jo sukoon dilaati hai
