Was Jephthah’s victory over the Ammonites connected to the vow he made to God or was the victory already God’s to give? And perhaps the bigger question: Did God ever ask Jephthah to make that vow in the first place? In this episode, we dig deeper into Jephthah’s story, examine his vow, and compare it with Hannah’s vow to uncover important lessons for us as believers. What are your thoughts on this episode? The story of Jephthah is a heartbreaking one because of the tragic vow he made to God and the consequences of following through with it (Judges 11:30).In this episode, I discuss three main things that may have influenced Jephthah to make this vow to God. We also explore how, as believers, we can overcome these same struggles and avoid the temptation to make rash or unnecessary vows. What are your thoughts on this episode? I know many of us have been in difficult situations where we tell ourselves "I don't remember praying for this" or "Will this ever end" and the list goes on and on... Most times, God enrolls us in some classes we probably never prayed for (in fact for me, never prayed for) but He uses that to stretch us to become more like Him.
if you think you're in that season now, listen as I share my story and I really hope you're encouraged.
2 Corinthians 1:4
who comforts and encourages us in every trouble so that we will be able to comfort and encourage those who are in any kind of trouble, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.
Hi SOGs! Have you ever found yourself so desperate for an answer that you considered making a vow or trying to bargain with God just to get what you’re hoping for? In this episode, we explore what it truly means to make a vow—and whether vows are actually needed in our walk with God. We also dive into the story of a well-known biblical figure who made a vow, examining her reasons and whether this is something God expects from us today.

Psalm 46:10
"Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth!"
When you hear the word stillness, what’s the first thing that comes to your mind?
Let me guess, probably sitting quietly and not moving. While that’s certainly part of it, God is not only seeking stillness in our bodies but also stillness in our hearts. Your body can be in one place, yet your mind can wander into a whole different world, often without regard for where your body actually is.
That’s why we have to intentionally, by the help of the Holy Spirit, continuously bring our minds into a place of stillness before God and through His Word.
It is in that quiet stillness of the heart that you truly come to know that He is God.
