    • The Case: Just a year after the Ripper murders, Abberline led the investigation into a male brothel at 19 Cleveland Street that employed telegraph boys from the General Post Office.
    • The Fallout: The case threatened the very top of British society, with rumors implicating Lord Arthur Somerset and even Prince Albert Victor (the grandson of Queen Victoria).
    • The Conflict: Abberline reportedly felt hampered by "higher powers" determined to protect the aristocracy, a frustration that clouded his final years at the Yard.
    • The Pinkerton Years & Monte Carlo:
      • International Reach: After retiring from the Met in 1892 with 84 commendations, Abberline became the European Agent for the world-renowned  Pinkerton National Detective Agency 
      • Gambling and Grift: For three seasons, he worked in the high-society casinos of Monte Carlo, where he was tasked with identifying and apprehending sophisticated gambling cheats.
        • The Turkish Bond Robbery: International high value thefts and suitcases of cash
        • A Legacy Etched in Stone: The story of Abberline's final years in Bournemouth and the 2007 campaign that finally marked his grave with a headstone nearly 80 years after his death.

          • Fact vs. Fiction:
            • Appearance: Unlike the troubled, drug-addicted figures played by Johnny Depp (From Hell) or Michael Caine, the real Abberline was described by colleagues as looking like a sober "bank manager" or "solicitor".
            • The Suspect: Abberline’s own primary suspect for the Ripper killings was George Chapman (Severin Klosowski), a barber-surgeon and convicted wife-poisoner.
            • Legacy in Bournemouth:
              • Final Years: Abberline retired to "Estcourt" at 195 Holdenhurst Road in Bournemouth.
              • Recognition: For 78 years, he lay in an unmarked grave at Wimborne Road Cemetery. In 2007, a public campaign involving modern police and Ripper historians finally erected a headstone to honor his service.
