Power has been mostly restored across Triangle after Saturday night storms.

A small, home-built kit airplane crashed in California on Saturday afternoon, damaging two homes and catching fire, officials said.

Families from across the Triangle, who have lost loved ones on a lake came together to honor their memory.

"The public radio station was alerting people what was going on," said Lisa Savage, who volunteered at an area church after the hurricane.

Seven people were killed in a fiery crash between a van and a pickup truck on a highway near Yellowstone National Park, officials said. The Chinese Consulate General in San Francisco said five of the deceased were Chinese nationals.

"Today is a little bit overwhelming, but through it all, I'm grateful."
