Über unseren Gast:
Miroslava Rosales wurde 1985 in San Salvador, El Salvador, geboren. Sie ist Schriftstellerin und Forscherin und beschäftigt sich in ihrer Arbeit mit Themen wie Migration, Geschichte, Trauma und Gewalt in Mexiko und Mittelamerika. Sie ist Doktorandin in Literatur (Romanistik) an der Bergischen Universität Wuppertal, Deutschland. Sie erwarb einen Master in hispanoamerikanischer Literatur an der Universität von Guanajuato, Mexiko (2019). Sie ist Mitglied des International Latin American Network (University of Oxford), RedIsca, Rilmac und des Projekts Bildungsraum Flucht, Gewalt und Geschlecht (Wuppertal). Ihre Gedichte wurden in internationalen Anthologien und Literaturzeitschriften veröffentlicht.
Außerdem hat sie an Poesiefestivals in Mexiko, El Salvador und Nicaragua teilgenommen. Sie war Redakteurin der mexikanischen Zeitschrift Cuadrivio (2015-2018). Außerdem ist sie Kolumnistin für Alharaca, eine salvadorianische feministische Zeitung. Als Fotografin hat sie für Zeitschriften wie Azahares (University of Arkansas Fort Smith) gearbeitet. Ihr erster Gedichtband, República del excremento, wurde von Rocío Bolaños ins Italienische übersetzt (Italien: Formarti). Im Jahr 2024 wird dieses Buch in der englischen Übersetzung von Mauricio Espinoza im Katalog von Formarti erscheinen.

Every day this country is traversed
by caravans They seek droplets of hope
over there in the bald eagle's land
In the faraway border with el Norte
which they say
think
believe
is inhabited by snakes coyotes lizards
arrowheads and drought
they're welcomed
by tear gas
militias to the tune of explosions
blows like the hatred of God
fists like fireballs
infernos of thorns and salt
rubber bullets
pepper spray
rotten bread
graves open to the howls of night
This country of dust and nopales
this country of succulent hugs
this country of soured milk in the shape of a knife in the shape of a politician
this country of amber and spring jacarandas
constantly searching
for a rainbow for its children
No room here no room there
for their pain
the size of a desert
«There's no place for us here» they say among them
«There's no place for you here» others yell at them
They say that I'm a wetback
that my crime is having no papers
The authorities of death don't know that I'm from fertile soil and speak the language

Caravans are the exodus of hope
They need our hearts like shelter
so they can bloom anywhere in this world.
