This week Llewelyn introduced our new sermon series, The New Humanity.

The Apostle Paul’s letter to the church in Ephesus retells the Gospel message and how that message is the catalyst for transformation into the New Humanity. In this series we will explore what it means to be a part of God’s new covenant family unified in Christ, and how life in this new family works and connects us to God’s bigger story.

Each week throughout this series we will see how God’s Kingdom mission in Jesus, forms the new pattern of life as the New Humanity, as both individuals and as a church.

This week we were joined by Dave Garland, Associate Pastor at Knightsbridge Baptist Church and SA State Leader for Red Frogs Australia.

Aiming to partner with and empower the local church to safe guard a generation for good and for God, Red Frogs focuses on serving and connecting with

university students.

Dave shares on the work that Red Frogs is doing here in SA, and how we can use the same principles in connecting with our own local communities.

This week we were joined by Steve Woods from Baptist World Aid. Sharing from Mark 2:1-12, Steve highlights how the scriptures are filled with stories of people who brought what they had, no matter how small, and generously gave with a joyful heart.

This week we were joined by Mike Waskiel from Flinders University Evangelical Students. Speaking on the topic of peace, Mike looks at how as a church family we are called to be people of peace. We seek peace, bring peace and humbly share the source of our peace.

Acts 10 shows how we will find peace not by looking inside ourselves, but by looking to the God of peace and seeing what he has done for us in the message of peace sent through his son Jesus.

While Peter was still speaking these words, the Holy Spirit came on all who heard the message. The circumcised believers who had come with Peter were astonished that the gift of the Holy Spirit had been poured out even on Gentiles. For they heard them speaking in tongues and praising God.

Then Peter said, “Surely no one can stand in the way of their being baptized with water. They have received the Holy Spirit just as we have.” So he ordered that they be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ. Then they asked Peter to stay with them for a few days. ~ Acts 10 44:48

This week we were joined by Lisa Cornish from Baptist Mission Australia. Speaking on the topic of prayer Lisa explores what prayer is, why we pray, who/what we pray for & how we pray.

Very early in the morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up, left the house and went off to a solitary place, where he prayed. Simon and his companions went to look for him, and when they found him, they exclaimed: “Everyone is looking for you!”

Jesus replied, “Let us go somewhere else - to the nearby villages - so I can preach there also. That is why I have come.” So he traveled throughout Galilee, preaching in their synagogues and driving out demons. ~ Mark 1:35-39
