  • SEASON FINALE! 2022 - Slavery Abolished in 4 States! (REPLAY)
The 2022 journey for slavery abolition and the 3rd season of Abolition Today has reached its amazing conclusion. In an epic and historic election, 4 out 5 states overwhelmingly voted to abolish slavery from their state constitutions! INCLUDING Deep South States like Alabama and Tennessee.
In concert with the Abolish Slavery National Network, #TheFreedom5 was a massive success. The only state to fail in passing their slavery abolition amendment was Louisiana. The state has now become the laughing stock of late night talk shows. People are being advised not to go to LA as you may end up being enslaved.  Everyone has serious questions. Why?
On November 13th we'll hear from the person who was solely responsible for this outcome. The Sponsor of HB298 Representative Edmond Jordan of Louisiana. In his own words, live on the Abolition Today Season III Finale'.  We'll have an adult conversation and ask the hard questions. You do not want to miss the S3 final episode!
Of course we'll bring it all together with amazing music presentations and Bridge The Gap one final time for 2022 by bringing the ancestors words back to life for a new generation.
We'll be airing previous episodes during our absence until our return on New Years Day 2023.

  • The 8 Weeks of Abolition - Week 8 with Guest Tina Wyatt (REPLAY)
In this last episode of an 8-week series we are joined by Tina Martin Wyatt. Activist, abolitionist, and the great X3 grandniece of Harriet Tubman.
We're only 2 days away from the last voting day where abolishing slavery in 5 states is on the line. We've amplified the voices of #TheFreedom5 like a galactic bullhorn.
Now, here we are. Right at the finish line of making history. Our efforts have gone viral and the world is watching. Waiting to see if America truly values the freedoms it claims to champion.
It's been a long hard fight against tremendous odds. We have literally fought principalities and powers with unlimited resources and access when all we had was divine favor and unrelenting commitment to ending legalized slavery.
Today, we make our final calls. Pitch our last plea. Make our last prayers. Light our last candles. You do not want to miss the conclusion to this amazing 8 week series.
At Abolition Today we have chronicled and archived this historic movement and the heroic men and women behind it from its humble beginnings to its 2022 conclusion. And now, we hope and pray that on November 9th we'll be able to say "It is done!" in 5 states where slavery is constitutionally legal today.
The next time you hear from us will be in our season finale when we report on the 2022 midterm results with special guest, Louisiana representative Edmond Jordan.
Of course, we've got amazing music mixes and we'll bring the ancestors words back to life for a new generation of slavery abolitionists.

  • Slave State With Guest Curtis Davis (REPLAY)
Max and Yusuf are joined by Curtis Davis. Author, abolitionist, and formerly incarcerated director of Decarcerate Louisiana.
Curtis is a founding member and Executive Director of Decarcerate Louisiana, and the End Plantation Prisons Project. He was instrumental in overturning unconstitutional Jim Crow juries in Louisiana. He is also a member of the Abolish Slavery National Network and introduced the LA abolition amendment.
Curtis's book "Slave State: Evidence of Apartheid in America" is available for purchase now.  Curtis Davis spent 25 years in Angola prison. Since leaving that literal slave plantation he has become a beacon of hope for those still left behind.
Of course we'll have news, updates, music, poetry, testimonies, and the voices of the ancestors reclaimed in our Bridging The Gap segment.

  • Femme Fatale Frenemies (REPLAY)
While Max is away, Yusuf will be joined by guest co-hosts Tag Harmon and Jean'na Kenney. We'll have a candid discussion about the forgotten and most times ignored history that 40% of the enslavers were white women.
We'll share an interview with Prof. Stephanie Jones-Rogers about her book, They Were Her Property: White Women as Slave Owners in the American South. We'll see how this history shaped the erasure of black women from the Women's Suffrage Movement and Voting Rights.
We're talking about Femme Fatale Frenemies: A Relationship That Started on the Plantation and perpetuates to this day.
As always, we'll have powerful music clips, and we'll bring the ancestors' words back to life for a new generation with our Bridging The Gap segment.

  • UnCivil War (REPLAY)
This Sunday we face the issue of potential civil war as it is and not as we want it to be. We'll let you hear what we've heard and listen to what the experts are saying. We'll also let those calling for a civil war speak for themselves. From police to the president. In their own damning words.
We've got powerful music to match and we'll bring the words of our wise abolitionist ancestors back to life for a new generation in our Bridging The Gap segment. They have so much left to teach and you're gonna learn today.

  • Forbidden Knowledge (REPLAY)
(REPLAY) We examine the 13th amendment through court cases. Our research provides some shocking conclusions. Things you weren't supposed to know and weren't supposed to be looking for at all. But we looked and on Abolition Today we expose this forbidden knowledge.
This is a must-hear episode. One which could be used in trials holding the US responsible for crimes against humanity that they knowingly and purposefully committed.
