Gosnell was an abortionist in Philadelphia from 1979 to 2010 until he was put on trial and convicted of manslaughter.

The court case caught the eye of Phelim, who was a journalist at the time, and was shocked by what he saw. Although he did not consider himself to be pro-life, he took on the story.
