When it comes to giving, many pastors won’t touch the subject with a ten-foot pole.That’s because many people get agitated or bothered when money is mentioned in the church, or due to negative experiences in the past. We’ve decided to present a mini-series on giving, as we’re in chapters eight and nine of Second Corinthians. When it comes to giving God is more concerned with our heart than the amount. Remember the poor widow who gave two mites? Though that gift may not have caught the attention of people, it sure caught the Lord’s attention in a good way! So then what is the key to giving that pleases God? Pastor Ed suggests looking to Jesus as the supreme example.

We’re often quick to make snap judgements based on outward appearance. For instance how often do we see someone who is good looking get elected into office! Or you see someone shabbily dressed and think poorly of them! But as we’ll see today, it’s not a good idea to judge others based on outward appearance. That’s a real problem today, as it was in Paul’s day.
