Abounding Grace on Oneplace.com

God has been so good and gracious to us! He’s given us His very best to us. And with Good Friday right around the corner, that’s on our minds right now. But today on Abounding Grace we want to consider the privilege we have to be generous in giving back to Him. It’s with Exodus chapter 25 in view that we bring you today’s Abounding Grace.

Some of us read the little book as a child, “The little engine that could!” I think I can, I think I can, I think I can declared the little blue engine as it makes its way over the mountain. But maybe you’ve noticed, giving it all you’ve got really doesn’t cut it in the Christian life! We can’t do it on our own. But God will do what you can’t do! That’s the emphasis of today’s study in Exodus here on Abounding Grace.

We’re in Exodus 21 and 22 today discussing some of the laws God gave to the nation of Israel on how to relate to one another. One of them relates to capitol punishment. You might be surprised to discover it goes back before the law was given, pointing out that life is to be valued.

As we wrap up our look at the Ten Commandments today we want to draw special attention to the altar that was setup immediately after the giving of the Law. It’s a beautiful reminder of God’s justice and grace.

We’re just getting started in the book of Acts. There are many wondrous events occurring in this book - from the giving of the Holy Spirit, the ascension of Christ, to the many adventures of the Apostle Paul. Today pastor Ed Taylor’s message will help you better understand the baptism of the Holy Spirit. In other words the power of God to help us to live a life that looks like Jesus and be His witness. I think you’ll be encouraged by just how easy it is to receive this!
