April 11, 2023 Honest Conversations: Pastor Ebow on the Sword of the Spirit and the Western Church (Pt 1)
“Honest Conversations” is a new mini-series we are running alongside “Womb with a View”.
Whilst “Womb with a View” looks straight at the unborn child biblically and theologically, in “Honest Conversations” we are speaking exclusively with church leaders about the importance of engaging the issue of “abortion” from the front of church, and in particular why it seems so hard to do so. We’ll also be hearing encouragement and practical advice on various aspects of ministering in this area, in the context of the local church.
Not only analytical but also constructive, it is hoped that this mini-series will be of help especially to those involved in church leadership as they seek to address one of the most critical issues of our day.
The “pastor-to-pastor” format means that what you’ll be hearing in these podcasts is not the observations of armchair analysts or keyboard warriors, but reports from servants of the word of God on the frontlines, where biblical principles are being applied in real-life congregations and communities.
Whilst some of the church leaders we’ll be speaking with have been ministering in this area for a number of years, many of them are relatively new to engaging the issue and some are only just starting out. All of us still have a long way to go.
Join us as we learn from one another and seek to expose and dismantle the obstacles standing in the way of bringing the whole counsel of God to bear on the whole of the Christian life, individual and corporate.
In this week’s episode we speak with Pastor Ebow Essel from Basingstoke.
Ebow was born and raised in Ghana before serving in the British military and continuing his education in the UK. After receiving a clear calling to full-time gospel work, he left his pursuit of a career in engineering and worked and studied across a number of different church denominations before coming to pastor Wessex Christian Fellowship.

April 04, 2023 Ultrasounds are "manipulative"?? A very disturbing conversation
Often in the media it's pro-lifers, rather than those deliberately practising or advocating the deliberate killing of human babies, that are (along with their activities) demonised.
Sometimes these seeds of thinking take root even in the Christian Church, and we end up more horrified by pro-lifers than we are by the violence of "abortion".
Too many of us are apologising and blushing over things that are righteous and necessary, more upset with each other than with the injustice, and all the while we are getting out of the way for genocide-perpetrators to carry on their business as usual.
