the gym... you either love it or you hate it


something that a lot of people forget is: moving your body is so important for your mental health. moving your body releases happy chemicals called endorphins which can help boost your mood and increase your energy


but when people think about moving their bodies, they think about going to the gym, doing super intense workouts, lifting really heavy, and constantly being sore. you don't need to do all of that in order to reap the benefits of working out


working out can be as simple as going for a 10 minute walk every morning. working out can be doing some relaxing yoga. working out can be anything that gets you moving that you enjoy


i think it is important, especially for people who struggle with mental health conditions, to look at working out as part of your self care instead of this super scary intense thing that you have to do every day


if you don't enjoy it, find something else. working out should be whatever you want to make of it not what everyone else is doing
