I'm not leaving the mental health space because I think it is too important to leave it

But I want to make something more meaningful and something that feels more important

for some people *cough* *cough* me, who find it hard enough as it is, it sucks to have people make you feel bad for the things in life that do bring you that little bit of serotinin

I like to dress comfortably because if there is no need to dress up, i don't want to put the effort in

is that depression? maybe? do i care? no? do i want to just be able to wear my leggings and oversized sweatshirts in peice? yes.

Here's the thing,

When you've been sad for a really long time, that then starts to become your default and you forget that you have the capacity to be happy.

And you start to push away all of the happy and the happy moments because they scare you and you decide that the happy isn't going to last anyway so what's the point in the little bit that you're going to get.

It's really easy to become comfortable in your sadness and fall into the decision that you're just going to be sad because there are no other options.

you owe it to yourself to try. and if you think you don't that's the 2+2=5 talking and we all know that 2+2 actually = 4 and fuck anyone who tells you otherwise

today we went on Tinder and we looked through a ton of profiles and talked about them in excruciating detail and the rest is for you to listen and find out

the gym... you either love it or you hate it

something that a lot of people forget is: moving your body is so important for your mental health. moving your body releases happy chemicals called endorphins which can help boost your mood and increase your energy

but when people think about moving their bodies, they think about going to the gym, doing super intense workouts, lifting really heavy, and constantly being sore. you don't need to do all of that in order to reap the benefits of working out

working out can be as simple as going for a 10 minute walk every morning. working out can be doing some relaxing yoga. working out can be anything that gets you moving that you enjoy

i think it is important, especially for people who struggle with mental health conditions, to look at working out as part of your self care instead of this super scary intense thing that you have to do every day

if you don't enjoy it, find something else. working out should be whatever you want to make of it not what everyone else is doing

Having low self esteem and a low sense of self worth is something a lot of people who struggle with mental health struggle with

which makes sense because a lot of mental health struggles come from trauma

and if everyone in your life is telling you shit like "you're not good enough", "you're not trying hard enough", "you're best isn't good enough" etc... you're going to start to believe it because people are constantly reinforcing that in your head

but the people who choose to not see how hard you are trying and the people who choose to not believe that your best is your best... can fuck off

if your best that day is getting out of bed, then that is absolutely good enough

it takes a long time to learn how to stop putting so much weight on what other people think of you and it takes a long time to unlearn all of these false perspectives people have been reinforcing in you your entire life

but you are worth it and you deserve to be able to feel good about yourself and to be able to feel confident in yourself and to be able to love the person you see in the mirror

it's hard work and a lot of that time, that work leaves you in tears. but remember:

every time you take a step in bettering yourself, you're one step closer to healing. also remember that bad days do not diminish progress. bad days just mean that your body and mind just need a little extra care, and giving that care to yourself is a step forward as well.

I have borderline personality disorder
