Whether we want to believe it or not there is a spiritual battle being invisibly waged all around us between good and evil. The enemy seeks to steal, kill and destroy you. Jesus seeks to defeat the enemy and bring you life to the fullest. This episode will leave you battle ready with knowledge of the fight, awareness of your God given armor and a commission to fight evil with your arrows of love and good works.
This is meant to be a conversation, a journey for all who listen. If you have thoughts, questions or comments about anything you hear on Above the Waves I ask you to post in the comments or send an email to [email protected]
I love you all. But not more than Christ loves you. :)

When was the last time you felt the overwhelming love of God? What about the last time you saw a crazy coincidence? Most of us have been blind to see the loving hand of God the Father working in our lives because we have been made to believe these miracles we witness are just a coincidence. The enemy has been hard at work to disguise God's loving works for us as seemingly insignificant everyday moments. It's time to wake up and be vigilant to God's unconditional love that surrounds us. Through discipline and intentional effort we can attune our eyes, ears and hearts to see the amazing gifts of love that our Heavenly father pours out on us daily.
Romans 8:37-39 No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Have you ever stopped to examine what your prayers might sound like to God? Are they heartfelt? Are they full of fluff and church-y words? In the verse just before the Lord's Prayer, Jesus warned us against reciting vain words when talking to the Father but I fear for most of us that is exactly what the Lord's Prayer has become, vain thinkless recitation. In this episode you will hear what God has revealed to me about how He wants us to chat with Him in prayer and it might not be what you expect to hear.
"Restraining prayer, we cease to fight,
Prayer makes the Christian's armour bright;
And satan trembles when he sees
The weakest saint upon his knees." William Cowper
"Unanswered yet? Nay, do not say, ungranted,
Perhaps your part is not yet fully done.
The work began when first your prayer was offered,
And God will finish what He has begun.
If you will keep the incense burning there,
You shall have your desire-
Sometime, somewhere!" Ophelia R. Browning
The choice is eternal and the choice is yours alone. To believe in God's existence and goodness or to deny it. In today's world we are accustomed to having a wealth of information about virtually any topic at the drop of a dime. However, when it comes to the questions of God we find ourselves doubting Him due to lack of proof, information and reasoning. This episode will explore the link between Original Sin and our own prideful and doubting ways. Full knowledge of God is incomprehensible to the human mind but through Jesus Christ we have been given a way to know the creator of the universe, the creator of you.
In this episode you will get to know Peter, a disciple of Jesus Christ and the other man who walked on water. In the passage from Matthew we see how Peter's mental focus and faith(or lack of) literally decided whether he sank or swam in a violent sea.
Focus your sight on the waves of fear, lies and doubts that surround you and you will sink. Focus your sight on the Lord and be amazed at His supernatural providence and love.

Above the Waves: (verb) to see above trials, trauma and lies of this world and focus your sight on the overwhelming strength, grace and love from God
But when one turns to the Lord, the veil is removed. Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. And we all, with unveiled face, beholding the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another. For this comes from the Lord who is the Spirit.
2 Corinthians 3:16-18 ESV
Do you seek truth? Freedom? Glory? Do you want to be transformed into the image of God?These endeavors are impossible if attempted alone. Take refuge in the Holy Spirit for He was given to you to guide you into all the truth and glory of God.

What does it actually mean to follow Christ? As His follower, what is He asking me to do? Now what we really want to know, what do I gain out of it? We don't have to do hours of research or scour through multitudes of religious books to find the answer to these divine questions. Jesus was very clear about what we gain, Him and His unconditional love. Through the Beatitudes we have been given a checklist of ways others will know you you are a follower of the One True King. If Jesus gave you a performance review today, how would you measure up?
God isn't the only one who speaks to us through silence. The enemy uses our thought life as a battleground and no one is safe from his soul breaking schemes. With only one goal in mind, to steal, kill and destroy the enemy uses our doubts, weaknesses and flat out lies to keep us from peace, joy and communion with our Creator and Lord. It's time to take your thought life seriously and show the enemy that God's strength and love for us always wins.

Silence. Sometimes we love it, sometimes we hate it but most times it's nowhere to be seen. God has shown me that He speaks when we surrender our time and silence our hearts to focus on Him. I pray that you come to understand why silence is such a necessity in your relationship with the Lord and gain awareness of how the enemy uses everyday distractions to keep us from the intimate bond our creator desires with us.
