Our study of the Book of Genesis now brings us to chapter 12, where we meet the man who would become the patriarch of 3 of the world’s major religions: Judaism, Islam, and Christianity. His name was ‘Abram’, which means ‘father’; later, God renamed him ‘Abraham’, which means ‘father of many nations’. But the New Testament calls him ‘the father of all those who believe’.
