Absorbent and Yellow: A SpongeBob Deep Dive

Can we say the podcasts in Texas are dumb? We're back with the classic episodes Texas and Walking Small! What will SpongeBob and Patrick do to cure Sandy's homesickness and keep her from moving back to Texas? And can Plankton convince SpongeBob to become a regular alpha-male?

Guest Sara Wodka joins us once again to discuss! After you've listened to this, head over to Spotify and give a listen to Lady Revel's latest single, Wouldn't Be Enough:

Guest Morgan Roberts returns to discuss episodes Valentine’s Day and The Paper! When SpongeBob oversells a late Valentine’s gift to Patrick, things quickly go awry. And how can someone have fun with JUST a piece of paper?

We also explore the potential inspirations for SpongeBob Squarepants gleaned from Ray Bradbury’s Zen in the Art of Writing, and go way deeper into high art vs. low art and transcendentalism than we mean to. Yay! Paper!

It's the disease everybody's asking questions about: The Suds. In this super science-y episode, we have friend of the show and medical student Olivia on to discuss SpongeBob's infamous illness. Can you catch a cold from the cold? Do home remedies like Patrick's work? Should I be afraid of old magazines? We also dive into Sleepy Time and hear some science behind dreams and what makes us tick.

SpongeBob fan and horror expert Morgan Roberts joins us this week as we get the pants scared off us by the classic Halloween special, Scaredy Pants. Can SpongeBob successfully scare someone before Halloween night is over, and can he pass as the legendary Flying Dutchman? And then, we dive into I Was a Teenage Gary, where Squidward's negligence comes back to haunt him.

You think you've got what it takes to maintain Employee of the Month 27 consecutive months and running? This is war, private!

This week on the podcast, guest Tim Westrom joins us to discuss Pearl's eventful prom night in The Chaperone and SpongeBob and Squidward's most epic rivalry yet in Employee of the Month.

Or did you know that Nickelodeon floated the idea of having a guest celebrity like Bruce Willis do his voice? We discuss this and more with guest Amber Zewert as we dive into episodes Culture Shock and F.U.N. !!!

You know what day it is, right?? No, not Wednesday— it's Opposite Day! That means you're gonna hate this episode!*
