It's been said, "God can do whatever He wants". But God has put "systems" in place that even He can't override. Why? Because He places value on His word. I hope this episode encourages you as we continue to grow a in better understanding of the Sovereignty of God.
In this episode we'll take a look at what God Himself says are Blessings and Curses. Once we're able to identify circumstances in our lives as either a blessing or a curse, we'll know what to resist, and what to receive. Gaining a better understanding of the Sovereignty of God will not only benefit us, but will also help to better explain the heart of God to others.
If God is "good", than why would "His will" be for bad things to happen to us? Does everything God wants to happen always come to pass? Does God want people to be hurt, or raped, or murdered? Absolutely not! But that's what the "Sovereignty of God" doctrine has developed into over the years. Listen along through this series as we start off by seeing through scripture that God is good. The hope is that as we better understand God's Sovereignty, we'll get freed up from some of the misconceptions we've had of His character and nature.
To end this series, we'll take a look at how receiving the Baptism in the Holy Spirit was never meant to be complicated. It's not just for the "spiritually mature", it's something made available to every believer who will receive by faith. I'll share my personal experience receiving, how my spiritual prayer language has developed, and also share a breakthrough story in someone's life close to me once they made the decision to receive. Finally, to wrap it up, you'll have the opportunity to receive yourself...and if you choose to, you'll then be equipped to be witnesses just like Jesus commanded in Acts 1.
In Part III we discuss, "What is tongues", what is its purpose, and how has it benefited me in my personal life. Some of us may not have heard about tongues in church, but Paul felt it was important enough to give an explanation of it throughout most of I Corinthians 14. The hope is to clear up some of the misconceptions on this topic in order to equip us as we continue to move forward for the Kingdom of God.
