An All things perspective
One of my favorite scriptures is Roman 8:28. "And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose. " Why is this my favorite scripture? Well, it is very encouraging. Most of all, it is a reminder that God can take mistakes and the randomness of life and make a "pot of stew." Often when I make a mistake while doing something, I cannot always make a recovery. Moreover, even when I do make a recovery, it is never good as new or better. The remarkable thing about God is, he makes what was a mistake look purposefully and gracefully done. He includes us in His perfect will. However, this is easier said than done. I find myself having a hard time believing this in some instances.

Our understanding through God and our understanding through the lens of the world is different-Proverbs 3:5 Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him.
Why do I take matters in to my own hands?- Romans 7:21- So I find this law at work: Although I want to do good, evil is right there with me. For in my inner being I delight in God's law' but I see another law at work in me, waging war against the law of my mind and making me a poisoner of the law of sin at work with me.

Many of us have internal laws that we were shown growing up. These were never stated but were "p's and q's" we immediately recognized as law. Because of these, we felt righteous in our judgment of others and ourselves for falling short of these. God wants us to move from "The Law", our Laws and our works and move to having faith in him alone.
