Too often Christians are just like Bosworth, they view evangelism the way he viewed fishing: just as a sport or just something to do once in awhile or it is only for certain people to do. This is not to be the case for Christians. This is a delusion to what Christ has commanded us to do.

It is our responsibility as Christians, as followers of Jesus Christ, to know what God says in His Word. It is not something we do to check off our religious to do list, but it is God connecting to us and speaking to us on how we ought to live our lives. If we are not reading the Word for ourselves, then how do we know if the way we are living is godly or not? We cannot make our own assumption that our lives are good, for we are corrupt and contaminated with the sin nature. Therefore we need an uncorrupted, uncontaminated view point on life. Thus we have the Word of God.
