🎙️ New Episode: Overcoming Mistrust – Drawing Closer to the Heart of Jesus

One of the biggest obstacles that keeps us from growing closer to Jesus is mistrust. Maybe you’ve been hurt, disappointed, or let down—and now it’s hard to fully trust God.

In this episode, I dive into how we can overcome that mistrust by learning who God truly is.
📖 “God is not a man, that He should lie…” — Numbers 23:19
He is faithful. He is love. And He always keeps His promises.

We’ll explore how God has shown His unwavering love through His Son, Jesus—who is the exact representation of God’s heart.
 One of my favorite examples is found in Luke 7:36–50, where a woman pushes through every obstacle just to get to Jesus. Her story is powerful. It’s raw. And it reflects the kind of love and trust we’re all invited into.

In this episode, I explore how the environment we grow up in shapes the way we see the world.
Psychologists call this our core belief system—the lens through which we interpret life, relationships, and even God.

When we’re raised in a toxic or dysfunctional environment, those distorted lenses can lead to deep-rooted mistrust. And often, without realizing it, we carry that mistrust into our relationship with God.

In this episode, I unpack how these belief systems are formed, how they affect our faith, and I offer practical steps to begin shifting that lens—so we can see God more clearly and experience deeper intimacy with Him.

We have to examine the things in our lives that are blocking us from seeking Jesus and holding us back from His love.  Yes, Jesus loves you, but there are belief systems that we develop from our environment that can stop us from trusting in His love for us.  Mistrust is a roadblock that can hinder our relationships with Jesus.  This episode is about being aware of areas in our lives that are blocking us from trusting in God's love.  God wants you to be aware of His character, and when we are viewing Him through the lenses of our hurt.

In Part 2 of our conversation on roadblocks to intimacy with God, we dive deeper into how childhood trauma can lead to deep-rooted mistrust—not just of people, but of God Himself. To truly heal and build trust, we have to get to know the character of the One we’re struggling to trust.

Just like with any relationship, trust grows as we learn who the person really is. The same is true with God. To overcome our mistrust, we must get to know Jesus—His heart, His love, His truth, and His consistency.

In this episode, we explore practical ways to begin building that relationship, dismantling distorted beliefs, and discovering the true nature of Christ. If mistrust has been a silent barrier in your faith journey, this episode offers hope, encouragement, and a path forward.
