Ann Konkoly is a certified nurse midwife and a life and business coach. Ann coaches nurses and Nurse CEOs on starting their own businesses - both private practice and coaching - so they can do good work in the world and do well for themselves. Ann's funny and incisive - but beware - if you've got littles around you as you listen - you might want to pop in some headphones!
It is not uncommon for my clients to tell me they feel stuck, that they're not making progress, that they're spinning around in their heads a lot thinking about their businesses, but not actually doing anything – taking action. When I inquire further, what I inevitably find – almost 100% of the time – is that they have not scheduled in advance what is getting done when.
How often do you slow down, pause, introspect and reflect? It's something I work on and refine frequently, as it does not come easy for me at all. This week's podcast guest is Lori Wald, a lawyer turned mindfulness meditation facilitator and coach and the founder of Nothing Doing. Check out the episode for an important reminder to hit the pause button in your own life.
If you feel overwhelmed by making decisions in your side gig, you're not alone. Tune in to learn a simple system for making powerful decisions that help you grow.
Heather Zirke started her law firm a little over 18 months ago. She was a lawyer with a full-time gig but, like so many of us, noticed that Covid changed her priorities. While she never thought of herself as an entrepreneur, a seed was planted when she thought about fitting work into her life, and not the other way around, which is how she'd worked and lived for many years. One of the things I love so much about Heather's story is how slowly she made a professional shift. Going slow, and taking one step at a time, is an important skill that so many of us need to exercise as we grow our businesses, consider leaving our 9-5s, or shift our identities around what work actually means to us.
Today's episode is all about taking small steps consistently to grow your side gig. I share the why, the what, and the how. Enjoy the episode!
Today's conversation is with the founder of RG Adoption Consulting, Rebecca Gruenspan. Becca is a full blown entrepreneur as a consultant facilitating domestic adoptions around the country. Her story is truly inspiring – she started with a f/t job and two side gigs. We hear a lot about "manifesting," and this can be on the woo side for many of us. But don't skip over this episode if that's not how you typically roll, as Becca's experience and advice is simple and actionable.
Service-based side gigs are about so much more than making money. Tune in to find out why and what this has to do with your long-term success.
Today's guest is life and leadership coach Kristen Schick. The seeds of Kristen's entrepreneurial journey started to take root during a year long sabbatical she was lucky enough to take during her time in corporate. Her story is one of her skills and experience meeting her interests and passion, and one thing she's always clear about is her core values. We talk about how they inform her coaching and her business, and a whole lot of other relevant tidbits for side giggers.
