Most of our lives are spent "doing things" for others - for our kids, for our spouses, for our co-workers. In fact, many of us end up neglecting ourselves in the process. But is it okay to be selfish? We've been taught not to be our whole lives. In the first installment of this series, we talk about why it's okay to be selfish.

Easter 2014 Message

It's so easy for us to know where the problems are in other people. In fact, when we read books or hear messages, often we think about who else "needs to hear this." And that's fine. But what about ourselves? Do we know where our problems are? Are there others in our life who can see them?

For most Olympic athletes, their sport isn't the only thing in life. While it does take dedication and commitment, at the end of the day, it's not all there is. But what about for followers of Christ? Is there something, one thing above all else, that winning HAS to be everything?

That Olympic Gold-Medalist. The CEO of that huge corporation. That role model who seems to have achieved everything and more... We are tempted to think that people succeed based soley on talent or giftedness. But winners have learned that it takes more than that...

Winners learn to pause and celebrate accomplishments - the win. We celebrate "the win" in many different areas of life - weddings, birthdays, graduations, and so forth. But what about spiritually? How do we celebrate spiritual accomplishments? And why should we?

Has anyone ever told you "Jesus makes everything better!" or "God can make such a difference in your life!"? Many people have, and they've given God a chance...but nothing ever comes of it.
