According to the CDC, 61 million adults in the United States live with a disability. That's over 25% of the population!

Yet only about 2% of all company websites are considered "accessible". This is a HUGE disconnect, and (to me) seems like a LOT of missed opportunities. Having disabilities doesn't make you less likely to need goods or services. According to Statista, 55% of US consumers shop online before making a big purchase. This doesn't scratch the surface of how many others are looking for service providers.

In 2018 the US DOJ released a statement "making it clear that it nonetheless still expects businesses to make their websites accessible" (https://www.jdsupra.com/legalnews/doj-confirms-websites-are-covered-by-56505/). So why don't more businesses make their website accessible? I think it's because it has not, yet, become law.
I would like to challenge companies and business owners to not wait. I'm asking you, my listeners, to join me in this plea. Let's use our combined purchasing power to encourage an accessible online experience for all of us.
