Getting to know Harry Bullman (sort of)…

People are complicated. Harry is no different.

We like to think it’s important for you to feel like you know us, so today, Ted interviews Harry about his passions, drives and vices.

Today Harry won’t be asking the questions, but will be on the other end of the conversation - reflective, introspective, and driven - expect to learn what makes him tick.

To be honest, this is just a conversation between friends. What began as one friend interviewing another finished as two young men grappling with life’s biggest questions.

In this episode, we sit down with Karé Adenegan, a seven time British Paralympic medallist.

Karé is wheelchair racer specialising in T34 sprint events. She burst onto the international scene at just 14, making her debut at the 2015 World Championships in Doha, where she secured two bronze medals.

The following year, at the Rio Paralympics, she earned a silver medal in the T34 100m and bronze medals in both the 400m and 800m events - before even having collected her GCSE results!

In 2018, Karé set a world record in the T34 100m with a time of 16.80 seconds at the Müller Anniversary Games in London, becoming one of the few T34 athletes to complete the 100 metres in under 17 seconds. Her remarkable achievements that year led to her being honored with the BBC Young Sports Personality of the Year award.

Beyond her athletic prowess, Karé is deeply committed to her Christian faith, which she explores in her podcast, “Sporting for His Glory”, in which she discusses how one’s relationship to God shapes their lives and careers.

During our conversation, Karé reflects on her journey from being inspired by the London 2012 Paralympics to competing alongside her idols, the challenges and triumphs of her career, and how her faith has been a cornerstone in her life both on and off the track.

Our guest today is Daniel Freeman. He’s a wellbeing practitioner and a Christian evangelist.

Believing in a religion is a question which all of us will face at some stage as we grow up. Whether raised religious or not, we all make the decision to have faith or not.

If you’re anything like us, allowing yourself to believe in things which can’t be empirically verified can feel uncomfortable - yet faith and religiosity are such central tenets of so many intelligent people’s identity.

It’s certainly something to explore whilst you’re young - before you have made your mind up too strongly one way or the other.

As with any unknown, it’s important to remain open minded and - whilst we didn’t agree with everything which Dan had to say - he is articulate, composed, and tremendously Biblically literate. He certainly provided us with some food for thought.
