Yesterday, former Michigan governor Rick Snyder and eight other top officials were indicted with forty-two charges—ranging from willful neglect of duty and involuntary manslaughter to obstruction of justice and perjury—after a new investigation into the Flint water scandal of 2014.

Today on the show, WORT news director Chali Pittman takes this opportunity to do a deep dive into the history of the Flint water crisis and discuss these latest developments with journalist Anna Clark, author of the book The Poisoned City.

Anna Clark is a ProPublica journalist based in Detroit. She is the author of the award-winning 2018 book The Poisoned City: Flint’s Water and the American Urban Tragedy (Metropolitan Books).
