In this episode we are delighted to talk with Prof Ilan Timor-Tristch and Prof Andrea Kaelan Agten about CSP. 

As a precursor to Placenta Accreta, CSP is a very rare and serious complication where the pregnancy implants and grows over or into a previous c-section scar in the lower front part of the womb.

A CSP can develop into Placenta Accreta if the pregnancy progresses into the second and third trimester. CSP is diagnosed in early pregnancy on an ultrasound scan.

Prof. Dr. Antje Horsch is based in Switzerland and leads the Lausanne Perinatal Research Group. She has a special interest in stress and trauma in the postnatal period.

The power of international collaboration and telemedicine.

PAI are delighted to partner with our wonderful colleague and friend Dr. Albaro Nieto, Colombia, once again in Season 4 of Accreta & Me. Dr. Albaro spoke with Accreta mum, Claudia Peña about her pregnancy, complicated by accreta and treated in Switzerland using international collaboration through telemedicine. These two episodes are hosted by Dr. Albaro Jose Nieto-Calvache, who is a placenta accreta specialist working in Colombia. These episodes are published in Spanish and are aimed at women and their families in Latin America. In the first episode, Albaro speaks with two of his colleagues about how women with placenta accreta spectrum are cared for and managed in Latin America. In the second episode, Albaro is joined by two mums who share their lived experience of a pregnancy complicated by placenta accreta.
