Are you constantly disappointed on Mother's Day? It's like, I give you humans my life, and I just want for ONE DAY to be treated with amazing respect, dignity, a cherry red Chanel bag and a beautiful brunch at the fanciest restaurant on the beach? Ok, so is that just me?

I used to think those things, and then a few years ago I decided to treat myself the way I wanted other people to treat me, and it changed my damn life. I talk today about how I've evolved over the last 21 years as a Mama, and how I actually love having ZERO expectations on Mother's Day, because I do those things for myself already. No need to put that pressure on the humans in my life. And, that makes it all the more wonderful, because you're always surprised and delighted.

If you are a mama, I want to congratulate you on keeping those humans alive, fed and sheltered. You are a rock star and deserve to be treated that way. Just do it for yourself, and then when they see that behavior you will be delighted by how they start treating you. Happy Mother's Day!
