In today’s Aces Interview, ‘conversations to empower’, I’ll be chatting with Alex Vasquez, a Digital Content Creator living in London. Originally from Costa Rica, moving to the UK in 2021.
Alex creates content about people with disabilities and the LGBTQ+ communities where he highlights the intersectionality between diversity groups and human rights.

He wants to raise awareness that an individual can belong to two or more communities at once and to show how sexuality is ignored  when it comes to those who have disabilities.

Alex try to do this while showcasing what it's like to be a disabled immigrant in Europe who comes from Latin America.

He is the first wheelchair and crutch using dancer to perform with the Royal Ballet. Joe has recently been working on a new production of Snow Queen, with Propel dance a brand new UK Dance company made up of dancers all of who are wheelchair users. Joe is now the ambassador of the National Youth Ballet.

Reid’s first feature film, I Didn’t See You There, won the Directing Award for U.S. Documentary at the 2022 Sundance Film Festival. The film won the Grand Jury Prize at Full Frame Documentary Film Festival and the McBaine Bay Area Documentary Award at the San Francisco International Film Festival.
