Anyone who knows, knows Vicki Powell is the mayor of queer Atlanta. From the high holidays of She-aster in the spring and Pride in October, to local mainstays Deep South and Church @ Sister Louisa's, Vicki is a party starter and community builder. As a mentor, she has given birth to up and comers whose voices travel near and far. Behind the decks she is a powerhouse, making the children raise their hands to gospel house in church and lose their minds by the pool at GHT. Vicki Powell is the one who taught us to fuck fear, the rave mom we all crave but don't deserve, and we are so glad she is here.

This mix is a bit of a departure from what i typically play out. However, I’m always looking for musical inspiration from different genres and have been listening to more and more techno the past few years. It brings an infectious, driving energy to the dance floor that is truly unique. Being in self isolation, i needed something to remind me of what awaits us on the other side of this.

Lemonfacer is the pseudonym of Jacob Gronberg, a DJ and electronic music producer from California. Growing up in the suburbs of Orange County he and his friends would spend most of their time recording music and sharing homemade mixes with each other. Between them they had a small collection of instruments and cheap production equipment that they used to make home recordings of jams and experimentations. For a time they had an online record label to house these recordings which spanned different styles of folk, punk, ambient, noise, and other genres. Eventually the group split but Lemonfacer continued to pursue music as a solo act and DJ.

After some exposure to underground dance clubs, Lemonfacer eventually shifted focus to house, techno and other more club-friendly genres. Since relocating to Taipei he has self released collections of demos originally composed for live sets at various music festivals and clubs in Taiwan.

Like many in the depths of underground raves, Sindri found his love for electronic music in his late teens. After moving to San Francisco in 2002, he forwardly found his place in nightlife and became an integral part of the queer scene before the tech-takeover. Throwing various parties, drag & art shows, and street guerilla performances. Now residing in Los Angeles, Sindri has devoted full time to music, djing and the arts. Avid purveyor of Italo, Disco, House, and Techno. Playing parties such as Horse Meat Disco London, Honcho Pittsburgh, Fagbash Provincetown, Lights Down Low LA, to name a few. You can also catch him every month in Koreatown for Featurette!

This mix is an homage to a special underground venue that Sindri would frequent in Oakland back in late 90's/early 2000's nicknamed "The Crackhouse."

Outside the booth, he carries a myriad of interests including rock climbing, mountain biking, camping, as well as a day job working as a mechanical engineer. As co-founder and resident of the Long Beach monthly Send»return , and driving force behind a series of off-grid renegade parties, clear is his passion for sharing quality dance music in places off the beaten path. This selection of cuts demonstrates his deep interest in dance culture, tying futuristic breaks with 90’s acid and forgotten classics.

Eugenia is an Italian, Bay-Area based DJ. Through her sets, she works to create a space for vibrant expression and self-reflection. Her selections consist of an intersection of stripped down house, electro, and atmospheric techno, but she doesn’t like to be constricted by genre — rather, by feeling (and a tight groove.) In her day-to-day, she is a medical researcher and poet, curious to draw a thread through seemingly disparate disciplines.

Her Acid Camp mix is influenced by the texture and energy contrast which has been the basis much of her recent work on and off the dance floor: that of the soft/tender versus the sharp/harsh. It features broken beats which have lifted her up in unexpected moments at the rave, and euphoric atmospheres which have rounded out the edges. The femme artists she has had the pleasure of seeing perform and work with over the last year have been a huge source of influence for this mix.

Sisters Of Sound is an LA based DJ collective founded by Maddy Maia & Tottie. Both DJs have racked up hours behind the decks in darkened basements and rooftops in London and Barcelona respectively. Meeting in 2018 having both moved from Europe to California, they discovered a unique bond in their worldly music selections.

Originating as a radio show and event series with leading independent radio station DUBLAB, SOS’ mission is to bring eclectic left field music from all over the world to the dance floors of LA. This quickly transcended into regular DJ sets, events & brand collaborations.

Maddy has worked in independent music for over ten years, and is now A&R director for iconic British indie label Ninja Tune. She co-founded and curated an array of successful club nights, festival stages and multidisciplinary events, signing critically acclaimed and gold selling artists along the way. Tottie is director of events and special projects at DUBLAB and curates music, art and cultural programming that reflects the diverse landscape of the city working with an array of institutions, collectives and brands. Both are avid music collectors with a focus on leftfield disco, house, techno, world music & ambient sounds.

Sisters Of Sound will release their first compilation in Spring 2020; a new mixtape series showcasing new tracks from some of the most groundbreaking international female and female identifying talent. Artists involved in the release include Minimal Violence, Nightwave, Via App, rRoxymore, Nene H, Maral, Ivy Barkakati, Masha, C Love & Hinako Omori. The release will be accompanied by a North American tour and selected European festival dates.

Opening with The Gagosians called Run For My Honey—a retro futuristic, 4 minute Rock’N’Roll Drama full of narcotic synths and deformed blues guitars. We picked this up on a trip down to see our guys at Pacific Beach Vinyl in San Diego last year. Following is 2 hrs of new beat and synth oddities, breaks and seductive up-tempo house. We included some of our favorite producers of late, rRoxymore, C Love, Chaos in the CBD, Urulu, Flora FM and Desert Sound Colony…. its definitely a mix to get you warmed up for the rave but also a bit of an odyssey. Book-ending with our dear friend Damon Eliza Palermo, and his ambient closer Uplands released on Acid Camp’s All Stars 1 Comp. Enjoy!
