Hey ATA Listeners, first off I'd like to thank all of you who either hyped up or joined us for our Chuck Finale Live Show otherwise known as Chuck Versus The ATA Live Show, it was really great to get the opportunity to converse with people who actually listen to our show. Unfortunately, due to the event itself along with all the preparation that went into it, we got behind schedule on our regular ATA podcasts. The good news is Nico and I are right on top of this issue working tirelessly to release a barrage of podcast episodes that will get our reviews caught up with the new television you are currently watching.

Hey ATA Listeners, have you ever had those moments in your life where it feels like everything is going your way? Well, that's what happened with Nico and I recording this podcast because we ended up with one of our best episodes ever.  Don't get me wrong, there was still editing that needed to be done,  but in terms of emotions we were running on full cylinders by giving you some good old fashion drama as this week's Castle prompted Nico to get up on  his soapbox to make an intelligent argument about how reality shows are making people stupid one episode at a time and  watching the third episode of  Fox's new series Alcatraz caused me to express a serious concern about there not being any more original ideas out there for a sci-fi/fantasy TV Series.

However, just because Nico and I got a little opinionated  doesn't mean we didn't have any fun with this podcast as we took a breather to discuss our favorite comedic moments from an outstanding 101st episode of The Big Bang Theory and threw around some pretty wild crackpot theories during our discussion about Fringe.

Then from here we went into what I call the main event as Nico who unfortunately was not able to join us for Chuck Versus The ATA Live Show was given the floor to give his thoughts on the Chuck Series Finale with a heartfelt sendoff for the little show that could that was worthy of the podcast equivalent to an Academy award. I've known Nico for a very long time and  next to the MDA Summer Camp that we used to attend, saying goodbye to Chuck is the only other thing that I've ever seen him get this passionate about so get ready to bring out the Kleenex if you are a hard-core Chuck fan. Although, the good news is for those of you who might be a little bit apprehensive of listening to this podcast due to the emotion, Nico ends things on a  positively optimistic note as he reminds all of us Nerd Herders that we have not heard the last of Chuck Bartkowski and the Buy More. So please drop whatever you're doing and listen to this podcast because it's one of ATA's best by simply giving you some serious closure to Chuck coming to an end especially if you were somewhat upset by the ending.

Hello ATACorps, MARVELites, Nolanites, Whedonites, DC Comics gurus, and Smallvillians and welcome to Across the Airwaves: Smallville Retro Reviews, Episode 18! On todays podcast episode, Woo and I (Michael J. Petty) talk about the newest trailers for "The Amazing Spider-Man" and "The Avengers" as well as the recently announced "Smallville: Season 11" comic written by ATA fan favorite: Bryan Q. Miller! Yay! We also discuss modern geek/nerd fandom, Arrow, Supernatural, a little Star Wars, and we decided to leave the mics on for a few extra minutes to get our feelings out. So, basically, this was our "break" episode. So, grab your coffee, strap yourself in, and let's go for a ride!

Over the years there has been many characters on Television that I've loved but there isn't one that I admire as much as Chuck Bartkowski. In the world that he exists in most people just see him as a lowly Buy More employee, you know the guy that you call when there's a computer emergency.  Then again, to  the people that are closest to him and us as the audience Chuck is a goofball nerd, a hapless romantic, a heroic spy but most importantly Charles Irving Bartkowski always knew how to help those in need by just emanating this internal optimism that had a habit of reminding us no matter how hopeless things appear to be, they can turn out to be okay in the end. In fact, I'd like to think Chuck created a movement in the real world that inspired fans to live life with his eternal optimism as we tirelessly went out to buy our 3-D glasses, order Subway sandwiches and join in on a flash mobs all to overcome the hopeless situation of NBC canceling Chuck but somehow like with the experiences of the show's title character things turned out to be okay as the show did the impossible of being renewed not just once but twice, something that has never occurred in the history of television. And  you   want to know why we kept wanting more Chuck? It's because he almost acted  as an IT repair man of our personal lives giving us the instructions on how to overcome our shortcomings and failures by just simply being positive with everything we do.

Now, after five seasons of fun adventures our intersect training wheels have been taken off as Chuck has come to an end with the Buy More's automatic doors closing before we really got to see things between our hero and the love of his life, Sarah were going to be okay but as a reviewer on Small Screen Scoop.com put it best you don't need someone to tell you that Chuck and Sarah will be okay, because you just know it. Again, there's people out there who were absolutely infuriated by the open ended nature of this ending but ultimately what the Executive Producers  were going for is giving us that last piece of vital advice before sending us into a world without Chuck. In other words, Fedak and Schwartz not allowing us to see  Chuck's future  but leaving us with the assumption that it will be okay is there way of telling us how to live our own unseen future, with eternal optimism or else we will end up like that fun killer Daniel Shaw.

On that note, we here at ATA full well understand that living your life with constant eternal optimism is not easy to do especially with one of their favorite shows from going off the air so to keep you from running around screaming pineapple, we decided to have an event called Chuck Versus the ATA Live Show to act as a final tribute to the little show that could, which played a part in the creation of our podcast. However, this chance to say goodbye extended beyond myself and Smallville Retro Reviews' host Michael J. Petty as we got some of you listeners out there to join in on reminiscing about the great times we had watching Chuck from the pulse pounding action to the Jeffster performances and the heartwarming moments.
