In today’s episode, I’ll share how I decided to speak with a person who unexpectedly showed up in my world and forced me to confront an uncomfortable truth. I’ll talk about how a comment sparked this conversation and required me to ask myself, am I allowed to accept a compliment from someone I have vilified in the past? What if a person you think you don’t like unintentionally inspires you to do something remarkable? How do you reconcile the two? I’ll talk through how things went and where I stand.

In today’s episode, I’ll share why a recent comment from a peer made me completely rethink a lie I’ve been telling myself and, even perhaps more broadly, challenge a single story that I identify with. Listen as I contemplate whether calling myself a risk-averse or even a risk-averse risk taker may be preventing me from seeing the truth, which is that I am quite courageous. And if I am courageous, why does saying that out loud make me feel so uncomfortable?

Today’s episode was inspired by a book that mentions: everything you need to get started is within your reach. I used that idea and extended the concept to remind myself that I have everything I need right now to succeed. So often, the temptation is to look externally, be it a new class, a new person, or a new product or service, to make you feel confident enough to either start something or succeed at it. But I’ll share how embracing and applying this philosophy to three areas of my life has made all the difference this past month.
