Behind every AI model is an enormous physical infrastructure of computers, chips, data centers, electricity, cooling systems, water, land, fiber networks, skilled workers, and capital.
And that raises a fascinating question:
What happens when the greatest constraint on artificial intelligence is no longer what we can imagine or program—but what we can physically build?
That is the subject of this episode.

Belief systems have traditionally been treated as passive—formed through experience, culture, and social context. But in a world shaped by algorithmic feeds, synthetic media, and microtargeted narratives, passivity is a liability. Disinformation is no longer incidental; it is engineered.
What if, instead, your belief system had an active counterpart—a dynamic, AI-powered digital twin that continuously models, tests, and defends your perception of reality?
This podcast explores a new paradigm: the digital twin of a belief system—a computational mirror of your attitudes, values, and cognitive tendencies that acts as a filter, simulator, and validator for incoming information.

For centuries, military advantage has been measured in weapons, manpower, territory, and technological superiority. But the battlefield is changing. As autonomous drones, AI, networked weapons, satellites, robotic vehicles, and increasingly realistic autonomous agents become integrated into military operations, warfare is evolving into something far more complex: a cyber-physical battle for control of information and trust.
The future battlefield may not be defined simply by who has the most powerful weapons. It may be defined by who can determine what is real. Learn more about the future battlefield and how it will change on this podcast or read about it at The Battlefield of Clones and Drones: When Trust Becomes the New Strategic Terrain - ActiveCyber

This is a journey of 8 episodes narrated by Chris Daly, the host of the Active Cyber Zone. It begins by explaining why traditional certification approaches to cybersecurity are under pressure. Subsequent episodes introduce the Assurance Continuum as the conceptual framework, explore the Unified Election Assurance Pipeline (UEAP) as the operational architecture, present the Election Assurance Maturity Model (EAMM) as the roadmap for implementation, and conclude by broadening the discussion beyond elections to the future of critical infrastructure. Those three contributions—along with the call for future research into continuous, evidence-based assurance—are the podcast series' central legacy.

I met Jon Rolf over 20 years ago when he was at NSA while jointly researching some high assurance solutions dealing with trusted computing and virtualization. Jon served in several prominent roles at NSA before finishing his service as Director at NIAP - the National Information Assurance Partnership - which is the organization that oversees a national program to evaluate Commercial Off-The-Shelf Information Technology products for conformance to the International Common Criteria. Jon has remained deeply involved in this space since his retirement and so I was delighted to get his thoughts for this podcast of the Active Cyber Zone.
