Adam Analyzes

For this episode, I analyze the Netflix Original, 1BR, a somewhat smartly written and paced movie with nasty moments throughout. With a low budget and social commentary on religion, this one tells a unique yet familiar tale. Find out why you should check this one out and if it is worth your 90 minutes!

Beetlejuice. Beetlejuice. Beetlejuice. Say his name three times and it's showtime!

For this week's episode, I went back to a personal favorite and one of my first memories of seeing a movie in the theatre. Have a listen for my memories and why this work of pure creativity is important to not just me but also important to director Tim Burton's career!

For this episode, I got to visit a classic for the first time, Director Frank Perry's The Swimmer. Starring Burt Lancaster in a story about a man swimming home in a "lake" made up of his neighbor's pools. Along the way we find out more to the story which builds to an unforgettable conclusion. What did I think about this one? Have a listen and find out why this should be on your list of films to watch!

In this later than usual episode, I decided to revisit the David Cronenberg directed, A History of Violence. Stylistically different from his past works, This family drama of a hidden past punctuated with ummm, violence, is still an essential work of one of cinema's greatest living directors that somehow does not get nearly the amount of recognition deserved. Have a listen & find out why is this non-body horror Cronenberg still essential and worthy of a re-viewing!

With about a week until Bill and Ted face the music, I felt it was appropriate to go back to the start of their excellent adventures! How does this Stephen Herek directed blast of '80s nostalgia hold up to today? Have a listen and find out!!

For this week, I decided to revisit the David Lynch directed masterpiece, The Elephant Man. While this is not a biopic, it does have some real world events to help tell the story of John (Joseph) Merrick. Have a listen to see what I thought in my rewatch of this wonderful, yet sad film.

For this week, I checked out the Sam Raimi produced horror anthology, 50 States of Fright. This show is on Quibi streaming service, so I decided to raise the question of not just, is this show worth checking out but also do we need another streaming service (one specifically for mobile devices)? Have a listen and find out what I thought of 50 States of Fright and also Quibi!
