It just felt right. JX has officially joined our little podcast as a third chair, so we’re now A, J and K8 plus H8. Three generations of hardcore kids talking niche music and other media.
We get a little heavy on this one and spend some time talking about Lou from SOIA and Andy Williams of ETID and Atomic Rule.
Hug someone you love. Life is short.
See title if you’re wondering why this is over a week late. Does anyone even read these? I don’t remember what happened in this one. It was fun though.

We go on several angry tangents in this one, mostly about the terrible state of the world. Legal counsel would like us to clarify that any proposed solutions are purely hypothetical, entirely figurative, suggestions for how to play Minecraft, or some combination of the three.
We eventually get to the homework. Citizen rules. Then we talk about the bands that were big when we first got into heavy music, which inevitably turns into us glazing Converge for a while.
Eventually this show will just become the Convergecast.
TTYL. <3 you. Bye.
An actual return to form. Comics, records we’ve picked up, music we’ve been listening to, and a couple of unexpectedly heavy tangents. We eventually get around to Kate’s homework, which they do their best to remember. We close things out by talking about Haywire signing to Roadrunner and speculating about which other bands might be next. We’re probably wrong, though. Who’d we miss?
Back in the saddle. Kind of. We catch up on the past few weeks, talk about the records we’re still looking forward to, and continue our ongoing struggle against the concept of a regular release schedule. It turns out making a podcast in your spare time is harder than we originally thought. Thanks for hanging in there.
A note from Kate, who writes all of these despite mostly aiming for third-person omniscient:
"So, what had happened was, the service we use to record is never finished processing the uploads when we wrap up. I need to be up early, so I go directly to bed, and by the next day my ADHD ass has completely out-of-sight, out-of-minded the entire thing. Then I feel guilty for not uploading it, which as we all know is a terrible motivator, I’m also still adjusting to a new job and an entirely different schedule."
Anyway, here’s the latest episode. Adam loved Vulture Feather, we talk about some records we got in the mail, and wander off on various tangents. We are desperately trying to right this ship and should be settling into a regular upload schedule in the coming weeks.
Bear with us, or tell us to go fuck ourselves. That’s cool too. We still love you. You need anything?
Short and sweet, because it is already past Kate’s bedtime. Adam got some records in the mail, and Kate is stoked that Remembering Never is no longer a blind spot. Adam gets derailed from a point he was trying to make because he had to yell at his cats, nearly edited it out, and then decided to leave it in. We are professionals.
We continue our not-so-proud tradition of not uploading these in a timely manner. Sorry about that. Adam talks about the surreal experience of having Aaron Bedard at his house. We get into Hellfest, then immediately wander off into a rabbit trail about the dude who called the cops because he stood too close to the pit.
Eventually, we make it to Ferret’s comeback and talk through their roster. Adam liked the homework, despite Kate’s continued dedication to assigning noisy, deeply weird music. Tell a friend, or don’t. Love you.
Back on schedule, but not entirely back on track. I think the term is mixed bag. Adam shows off some records, Kate enjoyed the homework, and we get a little lost in comic book and movie talk. We also play a game of wondering who’s carrying the torch for the bands we grew up with. Eventually, Kate gets in their feelings about the new Fiddlehead.
Kate shows off some things they went to an actual store to buy and shares an exciting life update. Adam enjoyed Heilung, but failed to follow directions. We talk about reselling versus scalping.
There's definitely more in here, but it has been a hectic week, this upload is already late, and this is all I’ve got. K, luv u, buh-bye.
