Zechariah 2 reminds us that Jesus is coming again. After devastation, He will be a wall of fire, and His glory will be in our midst. Are you down and out? Do you need encouragement?

When we think of God, do we think of God getting angry? We know God is love, and God is a God of grace and mercy. But He is also a God who gets angry with evil and evil deeds. Will you return to the Lord?

Today, we finish the Book of Haggai, which is only two chapters. The backdrop for Haggai was in the time of Nehemiah and Ezra, as Nehemiah was back in Jerusalem trying to rebuild the walls, and Ezra was there trying to rebuild the temple. Haggai is the prophet at the time. Chapter 1 encouraged us to consider our ways. Did you? Chapter 2 encourages us to be strong in the Lord. Are you?

Haggai is short but powerful—just two chapters, making it the second shortest book in the whole Bible. Its focus? Rebuilding the Lord’s house. And here’s something interesting: in only 38 verses, Haggai calls God the “Lord of Hosts” 14 different times!

In Zephaniah 3, the end of the Book of Zephaniah, God appeals to His people to return to Him; come back. For the most part, they turn deaf ears to God. Have you strayed from a relationship with God? He begs you to come back. Will you?

In Zephaniah 2, we see the ups and downs of faith, yo-yo Christianity. Is your walk with the Lord up and down or consistent? Is there a way to smooth out your walk with Jesus?

The minor prophet Zephaniah paints a picture of God’s wrath in a way few prophets have the courage to do. It is not a popular subject, but it is a certainty in God’s Word.

Habakkuk questioned God and heard from the Lord in chapters 1 and 2. Here in chapter 3, he wants to see a demonstration of God’s wrath and mercy. He closes with praise to the Lord. Do you turn your complaints to God eventually to praise?

In Habakkuk 2, God answers the questions from Habakkuk in chapter 1, and Habakkuk has a few more complaints for God in chapter 2. After you pray, are you patient for God to answer? How long do you wait?

The first two chapters of Habakkuk are his complaints, or his “prayers” to God, and God’s replies, which puzzle Habakkuk. That may happen to you too; from time to time, as you pray, you are puzzled by God’s answers.
