The first guest on the Bulletproof Podcast is Austin Rampt, and his is one of the hardest addiction stories I have sat with.
Austin grew up in Tampa and got pulled into addiction young. What followed was years of it: eight rehabs, jail, a family pushed to breaking point, and a stretch on the run abroad, surviving in the orbit of the Sinaloa cartel. He had every reason to be written off. He was not, and a lot of that came down to a few people who refused to give up on him: his kids, his wife Haley, and a friend whose impact stayed with him.
In this conversation we get into what active addiction actually feels like day to day, why eight rehabs did not stick, the quiet turning point that finally did, and a truth about love and purpose he never expected to find. It is lived experience, not theory, and that is exactly why I wanted him as the first guest on the podcast.
If you are in it right now, or you love someone who is, this one is worth your time.
