In this episode, I take you behind the scenes of Camp Soul—the emotional, spiritual, and tactical strategy that made this one of the most successful things I've ever created. Camp Soul is an adult camping weekend retreat happening October 9–12, 2025, and I'm sharing it not just as a case study, but as a living, breathing example of how business strategy and heart-led community-building can come together in the most magical way.

The original idea for Camp Soul came from one of my beautiful students, Darlene. She had a vision for an adult camp, and to be totally honest—I thought it was cute, but I didn't feel the zing. It didn't immediately hit me as something I needed to lead or create.

But then… everything changed.

She found this venue in Illinois and invited Kyle and me to check it out. At the time, we were going through it. We were stressed, bickering, pushing through the final stages of moving into our house. The timing was terrible. But I trusted Darlene and convinced Kyle to come.

The moment we pulled in—pine trees towering, a red-tailed hawk swooping across the road, and that big camp sign arching overhead—I felt it. The place had soul. It was covered in tie-dye vans, obstacle courses, yurts, lakes, archery ranges, a food hall straight out of my '90s childhood. We got out of the car, and both Kyle and I were completely transformed. It was like our inner children came alive again.

That night around the fire (well, a cold, wet attempt at one 😅), I knew—we had to do this. This wasn't just an idea anymore. It was a calling.

So here's the vision we've brought to life for October 9–12, 2025:

• 🌲 Nature immersion: kayaking, archery, hiking trails, and forest exploration

• 🏐 Classic games: volleyball, kickball, basketball, and team-based fun

• 🧘‍♀️ Morning meditations (led by me)

• 🎶 Nightly DJ sets from Kyle under the stars

• 🛖 Cozy yurts or BYO camping gear

• 🥗 All meals included—classic, hearty camp meals

• 🚫 No booze—this is a sober container designed for presence, play, and connection

As soon as we got home from the venue, I dropped a story on Instagram—no sales page, no funnel, just raw excitement—and registrations started popping like popcorn. It was wild.

• I offered it at just $500 to start (now rising to $777), fully inclusive.

• I set it up with a $108 deposit, with auto-billing for the rest three months later.

• I literally built the sales page after people started signing up.

The momentum was pure alignment + energy.

Then I took it deeper…

I decided to include Camp Soul as part of my signature mastermind, The Ascent. Now everyone who signs up gets a ticket to Camp Soul—either as a bonus or as part of their choice in live event attendance.

As we arrive at the final day of this 99-day journey, I find myself looking back with a deep sense of gratitude and grounding. This isn't just an end; it's a moment to sit with the transformations, the real work, and the connections we've woven together. Over these past weeks, we've explored what it means to trust ourselves, to show up in our truth, and to build a community that values meaningful growth over quick wins. Today, we honor the spirit of this journey—what it taught us about living fully, leading with authenticity, and embracing our own unfolding.

These 99 days have been about learning to trust in showing up, day after day, no matter what life brought. There were times of ease and others that stretched me in ways I didn't expect. But I kept coming back to this practice, and through it, I felt myself grow—gaining trust in my ability to give honestly, to be here fully, and to commit to my purpose and this community. This devotion has been a journey in itself, one that has anchored me more deeply in who I am and what I have to offer.

This last day is a bittersweet celebration of everything we've experienced and shared. Through every conversation and moment of insight, I've come to know each of you a bit better and see the beauty in what we're creating together. This journey has shown us the strength in community and the importance of belonging to something that nurtures our growth. Today, I hope you feel that sense of belonging too—knowing that this journey has left a mark on us all, creating space for continued growth, self-trust, and purpose as we step forward.
