Top story: The vetting of the Finance Minister-designate, Ken Ofori-Atta has resumed Friday, after it was suspended on Thursday on health grounds. The Chairman of the Appointments Committee, Joseph Osei Owusu who took the decision yesterday said today’s vetting will be done by only leadership.

Top story: President Akufo-Addo has appealed to the leadership and membership of the Trades Union Congress and Organised Labour to assist Government in the country’s post-Covid-19 economic recovery efforts. Speaking at the 11th Quadrennial Congress of the Trades Union Congress (TUC), on Tuesday Mr Akufo-Addo stressed that at the height of the pandemic, government instituted several measures and interventions to lessen the impact of Covid-19 on lives and livelihoods.

Top story: The Deputy General Secretary of the National Democracy (NDC) has affirmed the party’s decision to maintain John D. Mahama as their Presidential candidate for the 2024 general elections. Although Peter Otokunor was unable to confirm if NDC’s 2020 Presidential candidate had declared his intentions to run in the 2024 elections, he described the introduction of a new presidential candidate for the party as “ridiculous”.

Top story: Four men have been electrocuted at Anwomaso Bebre near Ejisu in the Ashanti region. These men include a father, his son and two others who were erecting a scaffold to work on a three-story house. “In their attempt to move the metal structure from one end to the other, the tip accidentally touched a high tension line, leading to the electrocution,” an eyewitness told Joy News reporter Kofi Adu Domfeh.
