• I failed to realize there’s a huge difference between “B2B” and “B2C” sites.

Ads vs. Affiliate Marketing

Overall, I prefer display ads over affiliate marketing.  However, each have their pros and cons.

Exceptions
=> B2B sites (ex. Fatstacksblog.com)
=> Lead gen sites
=> Cost per action sites: ex. Credit card promotions
=> Others?

Can you do both?
=> Yes, both is a very a good monetization strategy.
=> I do both on most sites.
=> I focus on display ads, but when appropriate, include affiliate links.
=> Long term: build up domain authority to make ranking buyer intent easier.
