“Faith in the Waiting”

Today’s devotional from Luke 1:18-25 highlights Zechariah’s encounter with the angel Gabriel and his initial doubt upon hearing the miraculous promise of a son. Zechariah’s question, “How shall I know this?” reveals his struggle to believe God’s word in the face of his and Elizabeth’s advanced age. Gabriel’s response, rendering Zechariah silent until the promise is fulfilled, teaches us about faith and trust during seasons of waiting.
