Qantas Airways plans to make vaccination against COVID-19 mandatory for international air travelers once the vaccine is widely available. Qantas CEO Alan Joyce expects other global aviation peers to follow suit.

In an interview with Australian television show A Current Affair, Qantas CEO Alan Joyce said "we are looking at changing our terms and conditions to say for international travelers, that we will ask people to have a vaccination before they can get on the aircraft."

This week we will be taking a look at how the Boeing 737 MAX may fly by as soon as November 18?

The un-grounding of the MAX is inching ever closer, as the FAA is in the final stages of the model’s review. If all goes well, the aircraft’s grounding order could be lifted by as soon as next week.

Now As the FAA is reviewing the documents and changes made to the aircraft, three sources familiar with the ongoing matter told Reuters that the process is in its final stages and is expected to be complete in the coming days, meaning that the MAX could be allowed to fly by as soon as November 18, 2020.

Storing aircraft could become quite a headache for airlines and Lufthansa (LHAB) (LHA) might be a great case to examine. The German airline flew six Boeing 747s to storage at a small Dutch airport in order to park them where doing so is much cheaper. However, when it later wanted to send the aircraft to scrap them – Lufthansa was unable to do so, as the airport’s runway was not certified to allow such heavy aircraft to depart. Yet they were allowed to land. Now, the first of the six 747s stored at the airport finally departed toward its final destination, Mojave Air & Space Port (MHV).

This week’s story looks at an incident in Doha airport, Qatar. On October 2, female passengers flying to Sydney, were taken off the airplane, strip-searched and medically examined without their consent. The search happened after a premature baby was discovered in the terminal bathroom of Hamad International Airport earlier that day. The invasive searches came to light this week after passengers contacted authorities in Australia.

Story of the week: Singapore Airlines announced that it would once again return to New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) on November 9, 2020, flying a direct itinerary from its hub, at Changi Airport.

The flight will overtake Singapore Airlines‘ flight from Singapore to Newark Liberty International Airport as the world’s longest commercial scheduled flight, beating it by a measly four kilometers in distance. The airline will operate the flight with an Airbus A350-900, configured with 42 business, 24 premium economy and 187 economy class seats. However, the main reason why the flag carrier of Singapore is returning to JFK is cargo.
