Afghan Radio - Sound of Life

Nowruz is the first day of the solar year. On this day people wear new clothes, go to each other's houses, and sing and dance. They go out in lawns and gardens and meadows to walk in the grass. There’s an air of celebration and joy!

The message of Nowruz is basically one of nature being revived. It is symbolic of our need for revival and new life. Let us be renewed from within and become fresh and youthful.

As followers of Jesus Christ, our identity is determined in him, Jesus Christ. Many people see their identity in their tribe, or in the place where they live or in the country to which they belong. But as followers of Jesus Christ, we see our identity in him. When we accept Jesus Christ as our Savior, he gives us a new identity. We read in the Word of God that we are forgiven!

With the arrival of spring, nature puts on a fresh green gown. Songbirds like canaries, goldfinches, starlings, hoopoes, doves, partridges and pigeons sing joyful and refreshing songs calling all people to love, reconciliation and harmony. Spring brings a message of romance, budding and growth. It is the season of joy and happiness, and that is why it is so welcome—and with its arrival, hearts are filled with the thrill of new life!

Spring is a messenger of balance. In the light of this balance, life becomes beautiful. Spring reminds us of God's mercy and love, which surround all people and created things like a life-giving flood.

A person who believes in Christ becomes a new creation, and is no longer a captive of or a slave to Satan. If anyone is in Christ, he is a new creature. Old things have passed away and now everything is fresh! All this is from God, who has reconciled us to himself through Christ, and has given us the ministry of reconciliation. In other words, God in Christ reconciles the world to Himself and does not hold people accountable for their sins.

We cannot save ourselves. Instead, we are saved by believing in Jesus Christ. Therefore, salvation is a free gift of God's mercy that we receive by our faith in Jesus Christ. This is not because of our effort and hard work, but a gift from God. Salvation is not the result of our good works, so no one can boast. The Bible says that if salvation came through our own efforts, no one would be saved.

Walking in the light is the same as believing in the light. Christ is the light. It is not enough to just see the light. We must believe in the light and walk in it. When we see light, we must believe in it. That is, when we see Jesus we must believe in him and follow him. From sunrise to sunset, the sunflower always turns to face the sun. We Christians, like the sunflower, receive our light from Christ.

We must love our brothers wholeheartedly and without selfishness, just as Christ has loved us. We are born of God and all believers are spiritually our brothers and sisters. If we love our earthly brothers and sisters, how much more shouldn’t we love our spiritual brothers and sisters?

Jesus told his disciples: A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another.

Why does Jesus Christ tell His followers that they are the salt of the world?

You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled underfoot.

What does salt do? Let’s take a look at it.

Jesus Christ has promised that whoever receives him as Lord, that He will enter that person’s life and shine through his or her life.

The Light is a Guide or Compass. Jesus Christ Himself is the Light of the World. His followers reflect a light that comes from Him. What does the Light of Christ mean?
