Hola friends, family and the entire community, I am super stoked to be back for another week at this incredible have. I remain @coderaikiri, welcome to the 163rd edition of AFRI-TUNES. For my entry, I'll b presenting a song cover by victony ft the new cats of afrobeats titled Ohema ( meaning queen or royalty).
Now when I first heard victony would be dropping a song in the last quarter of 2023 I was super excited especially when I saw how packed the features were, bro literally had a squad of over 10 artists with him and most of them were actually A-class vocalist.
The song was released in November 2023 and as expected it topped charts for months going as far as becoming the anthem to seal the year.
One thing I love about this song was the diversity it explored as a result of the numerous artist on this crazy hit. Every singer was struggling to stand out just so they don't be overshadowed by the next which brought out a whole new dimension from the song especially when it was approaching the end part.
The song followed the usual theme most afrobeat jams obey contemporary, showering praise on the female gender ( well I can't say I don't enjoy it though) using a blend of the Yoruba language and popular pidgin slangs to convey messages which led to a truly catchy production.
The song is one to look out for if you've never heard of it before. I hope you listen, enjoy and give with it
