This week, Kibathi is joined by Beth Hale and Mercy Anampiu to talk about the Covid-19 Vaccine. Beth and Mercy tell Kibathi everything that you need to know about the vaccine, dealing with a positive diagnosis, and what this new strain means for the population.Beth Hale is the Vice President Patient Care Services/Chief Nursing Officer at both Elliot Hospital in Manchester, NH and Lawrence General Hospital in Lawrence, MA Board of Directors for the American Organization of Nursing Executives (AONE) and numerous nursing and academic boards.Mercy Anampiu was born and raised in Kenya. Mercy has over 17 years of experience in the Community Health field. She is currently employed at Lowell community Health Center (Lowell CHC) as the Director of Community Health Programs. In this role Ms. Anampiu promotes health services for patients; supports professional development for staff and other health care specialists in the community; stimulates community engagement; and actively participates in health and community improvement initiatives. She consistently facilitates specialized trainings in Cultural Competency, Medical Interpretation and Community Outreach Education. She serves on various area boards, task forces and committees. Mercy is a Community Health Worker, advocate, educator, mentor, interpreter and “go to” person for many. She initiated and facilitates Lowell CHC’s African Advisory Board. She holds an MBA from Fitchburg University. Additionally, Mercy has received additional trainings from various health care and nonprofit leadership entities as part of her postgraduate education to enhance her health care knowledge. Her passion is community organizing and working with marginalized populations to promote overall well-being.
