Hello Listeners! It is Episode 4! Thank you for tuning in! This is the first of the AfriWetu Fables & Folklore Series - The Calabash Kids, from Tanzania. A story for the children :) A big thank you to my guest George for narrating this tale, shukran. As said in the 1st & 2nd episodes, the importance of telling our own stories is not restricted to just our history, it also extends to our fables & folklore, stories that are relatable....so what better place to start than one of my ancestral homes :) This episode is dedicated to my mother, brother and nephew - who all celebrate their birthdays this month of April. A huge thank you to our most wonderful director Mwendwa Mbugua of Kijiji Entertainment and the fantastic producer Lee Kanyottu of Big City Studios - the two of them do the hardest part and make these shows sound good! All the music and the sound effects used have been sourced & slickly arranged by Big City Studios. Remember to follow us @AfriWetu on Twitter & IG. (Please leave a voice message on the Anchor platform, we would love to hear your feedback & may play it too!) Until next time, Mubarikiwe.
Hello Listeners! It is Episode 3!
This is the first of the African Civilisation Series - The Kingdom of Mapungubwe. The significance of this kingdom is explained in the show, one that extends beyond the borders of Southern Africa, to the continent as a whole. As part of the research done into this kingdom, there were a number of sources, which shall be shared on AfriWetu's social media pages in the coming days, please be sure to check them out, & share any other links/sources you come across (tag us!). (You can also leave a voice message on the Anchor platform, would love to hear your thoughts and feedback on the show - might even play it!)
*A huge thank you to the most wonderful director and human Mwendwa Mbugua of Kijiji Entertainment and to the fantastic producer Lee Kanyottu of Big City Studios - the two of them do the hardest part and make me sound professional…*
All the music/sound effects (credits below) used have been sourced & the slick arrangement done by Big City Studios, and a good reason why the episode sounds this good! (All spoken word mistakes are mine and mine alone!).

Hi all!
Thank you for tuning in!
This episode is my first ever podcast recoding in life and thus is the most sentimental and was an emotional release.....
It is also not polished, so what you hear is the authentic no frills explanation as to why AfriWetu exists.
It was a surreal experience, finally recording and putting words to this study/pursuit/passion of mine that has been there for decades (and you can hear it from the way my words are rushing and tumbling out). I wouldn't want it any other way as this really captures what I feel about our story, it is pure energy. It is our promise to keep this energy and enthusiasm throughout the AfriWetu experience.
My hope is that you want to hear more and join us on this Afriwetu journey :)
Until next time,
Mubarikiwe
**A huge shout out to my producer @itsMwendie for her invaluable support, advice and expertise. Thank you to @leekanyottu for making me sound professional :) and another huge ASANTE to @kanjiimbugua for creating the overall episode mix and making it feel professional.
It takes a village people!**
