This week Gabon went to the polls to elect a new President and its been just a couple of years since President Ali Bongo was ousted in a coup, and 16 years since his father President Omar Bongo died. Presidential power has been in the the Bongo family and their one party state since 1968. This show however presents some of the glorious music during that time featuring Pierre Akendengué, Patience Dabany (Omar's wife), and bands like Missema, Kakoula Djele de Bongoville, Mikouagna de Mounana, Groupe Kounabeli de Masuku, Franco & TPOK Jazz, and harp player Papé Nziengui.
